Q: What do I do if my audio card crashes?
A:

If the game is crashing on your computer, the first thing you should do is verify you have the latest drivers for your video card and sound card. If you go to Start, Run, then type in dxdiag and press Enter, you’ll start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

Click on the Display tab to find information about your video card and click on the Sound card to find information about the sound card.

If you do an internet search for the name of your video card or sound card, you should be able to find the manufacturer’s site where you may find updated drivers for your card.

If you are still crashing when running the game and you have an AD1980 integrated audio chip, you may still encounter a game crash. If you have this integrated audio chip and are still crashing, you can turn off Chatter in the sound options menu to work around this problem.

Q: What do I do if I see a Sync Out of Range message on PC?
A:

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. If you have Windows XP, you can go to Start, Run, type in dxdiag, then press Enter to launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Click the Display tab and you can find your video card’s name under Device Name. You can Google that name to see if you can find drivers for your video card. Some of the more common chipset makers are Nvidia, ATI and Intel.

If that doesn’t help, go into My Computer, right click on the BYBaseball07 CD and choose Explore. When the new window opens, right click on the BYBaseball07.exe and hold the button down, drag the icon to the desktop and let go of the right click. In the new menu, choose Create Shortcut Here. Right click on the shortcut and choose Properties. In the shortcut path, it should say something like D:\BYBaseball07.exe. It should also be highlighted. Put your cursor after the .exe and left mouse click to make the highlight go away, then add a space, then add the word windowed. It should look like this:

D:\BYBaseball07.exe windowed
(Where D is your CD-ROM letter)

Click Apply, click OK and run that .exe from your Desktop. The game should run in one window and you should have sound. If you do not have sound, go into a game, pause the game and go to Options, Sound Options and crank all the sounds up to above 0%. You should have sound now.

Q: I am getting a Disc Read Error for PS2
A:

This Disc Read Error problem is happening because you have an older modeled PlayStation 2 that has a bit of a hard time reading CD based games as opposed to DVD based games. You most likely haven’t experienced this problem before because most of your games are DVD based, but ours is CD based, so you’re seeing this Read Error. You can try several different things to possibly fix this problem:
1. Try is switching the way the PS2 is oriented. If you have it upright, try putting it horizontal and vice versa. Apparently the laser sometimes has issues reading the discs and switching its orientation sometimes “fixes” the problem.
2. You can try placing (2) 1-inch pieces of scotch tape opposite each other on the top (color printed) surface of the disc... one on each side of the center hole. This will help balance the disc and allow it to spin smoothly.
3. Last but not least is Sony’s support number: 1-800-345-SONY (7669). They may be able to help you get that console looked at and/or repaired at their discretion.
